In the Name of God Amen!

I, Benjamin Franklin Breazeale, of the State of Tennessee in the County of

Roane being in sound mind & memory thanks be given to God for his mercy, and

calling into mind the mortality of my body & knowing that it is appointed for

all men once to die do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament. That

is to say principally and first of all I give and recommit my soul into the

hand of that holy God who gave it & my body I recommit to the earth to be

buried in a decent Christian burial at the discretion of my executor nothing

doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same by the

merciful and almighty power of God. And touching such a worldly estate

wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life I give, devise, &

dispose of the same in the following manner & form, First, I give and bequeath

to my son Henry Willis Breazeale all my lands, plantation & premises including

the plantation where I now live, and all my other property of any kind be sold

& put to interest & that my executors, or executor do pay an equal part of the

same to the lawful heirs of Owen Gentry & Patsy Gentry his wife & also the

lawful heirs of Charles Bogart & his wife as said heirs come of age further I

do give and bequeath to Owen Gentry & Patsy his wife five dollars & to Charles

Bogart & his wife five dollars to Thomas Dawson & his wife and also five

dollars to Robert Davis & his wife & this I do certify and confirm as my last

will & testament for the execution & the performance thereof I do appoint my

true & trusty friends Joseph Rhea and Henry Bogart as my executors.

An accounting by the executor is recorded in Book E, page 426, the December

term of court 1853 as follows:

Be it remembered that on this 28th day of November 1853, personally appeared

before me Austin L. Greene, Clerk of the County Court of said County, Elijah

W. Breazeale administrator with the will annexed of the estate of Benjamin F.

Brazeale deceased and made the following return and settlement to wit.

From the inventory of sale of personal estate returned at July term 1850 of

Roane County Court said administrator is chargeable as per said return this

sum $353.89.

The inventory of debts reported at same term returned all bad he still reports

that he has not been able to collect any portion of them consequently they are

not taken into this account of settlement.

of April 1850. One bay horse, one sorrel mare, one sorrel filly, one gray

colt, on yoke of cattle, one wagon, two milch cows, two yearlings sheep,

twelve head of hogs, two feather beds and furniture, two bedsteads, one safe,

one china press, one dressing glass, one small table, one Piggin (pail), one

bucket and dipper, one saddle and bridle, one meat, 4 bee hives, one shot gun,

one barrel whiskey, four gallons and a pint, one jar of lard, one family

Bible, four stands of beer, one large kettle, one pot oven, one skittle, one

pot rack, one turning plough, one shovel plough, two skooters, two weed hoes,

eight sides of bacon, forty head of geese, five turkeys, one pair of

steelyards (scales), one ripskin (split cowhide), one 24 hour clock, two half

round tables, one pair sheep shears, one pair ? dogs and shovel, seven

chairs, one log chain, one saddle and saddle bags, one mattock, one scythe and

cradle, one loom, one mowing scythe, one reap hook, one hand saw, one falling

ax, one iron square, one five quarter auger (1¼ inch bit), one tin trumpet,

one wheat fan and sieve, one sun glass, candlestick and snuffer, one iron

wedge, one meat sack, one wash pan, one vinegar barrel, two salt barrels, two

hogshead, two pairs of hames and chains, collars and backband, one dictionary,

two single trees, one clevis, one trunk, two pair pot hooks, one hammer, one

chisel, two small gimblets (drill bits), one tin funnel, one bill, 7½ yards of

______ cloth sold at private sale to A. M. Hankins for #3.75, dishes and

forks, half dozen teas and cups, half dozen plates and dishes, one bottle.
