About Benjamin Richard Cutler, Free Settler 1833
Arrived Port Jackson, NSW, 26 July 1833 via Hobart Town
He was possibly named after Benjamin Disraeli, and this name was unusual for a Cutler at the time:

The Benjamin Cutler family migrated to Australia arriving on "The Warrior" 1833. John Cutler (Benj. snr's brother) and wife Anne migrated 1835 on "The Adelaide"
Benjamin snr,. was a builder by trade and his sons Benjamin and Samuel also became builders and Cedar Merchants in Sydney. Brother John went to Northern NSW to secure the Cedar supplies.
Interestingly there was a Benjamin Cutler who made fine cedar furniture in United States around the early 1900's.
I have considerable knowledge of the Cutlers in Australia but very little from England. For starters Cutler is a fairly common name and they came from London, and I guess even then, London was a big city. I would love to hear from other Cutlers who are of the same family as noted above.
