Benjamin Foster was born in Ipswich, Massachusetts, c1699, the son of Benjamin Foster and Mary Johnson [1] died in Scarborough, Maine, c1763; [2] married at Portsmouth, New Hampshire, 1 Nov 1716, Wilmot Griffith. [3] [4] She died at East Machias, Maine. [5]

Both were members of the Greenland Church, 1722; He removed to Scarborough by 1737; presumably the Benjamin Foster of Portsmouth who, with Robert Hasty, bought 100 acres in Scarborough in 1731.[6]

  3. Sarah, bp 1728.
  4. Wooden, bp 1730; settled in Machias, m in Scarborough 28 May 1753, Frances Scott.
  5. Sarah, bp. 1733; m in Scarborough, 17 May 1750, Joseph Milliken, bp 29 May 1729; he was a grantee of Trenton, Maine, on the Union River, 1763. His second wife was Miss Berry.[8]
  6. Isaiah, bp. 1735, these six bp in Greenland; settled in Machias and Cherryfield; m in Scarborough, 18 Jul 1754, Lydia Fogg.
  7. Ezekiel, bp at Scarborough, 2 Oct 1737; settled in Machias; m in Scarborough, 17 Nov 1757, Mary Fogg.
