Benjamin Glover Shields (1808 – 1850) was an American politician and a member of the United States House of Representatives from Alabama. He was born in Abbeville, South Carolina.
He moved with his father to Clarke County, Alabama, and later resided at Demopolis, Alabama, in Marengo County. He completed preparatory studies and was a member of the Alabama House of Representatives in 1834. Between March 4, 1841, and March 3, 1843, he served as a Democrat in the Twenty-seventh Congress. In 1845, he was commissioned by President James K. Polk as United States Chargé d'Affaires to Venezuela. He remained in this position until January 7, 1850. He moved to Texas and engaged in planting until his death.
