Notes for Benjamin Wright:BENJAMIN WRIGHT of Pepperell, Private, Lieut. Issac Wood' detachment, which marched on the alarm of April 19, 1775 to headquaters at Cambridge,service, 4 days; also Capt. John Nutting's Company; Col William McIntosh's regt;, Gen Lovel's brigade; enlisted 7-30,-1778; discharged 9-12-1778 service, 1 month, 17 days, on expedition to Rhode Island, joined Army under General Sullivan on the expedition against Newport in August, 1778 and continued in service at Rhode Island for the term of 6 weeks under Capt. John Nutting, and asked that said Capt. Nutting be directed to make up a roll for their State pay which they had not received; petition was granted and resolve passed thereon 11-26-1779. Benjamin Wright settled in Hollis N.H. at a place on the road from Wincol Wright mill to Parker pond valley, he being one of the first settlers in this wild region, who by dint of industry and perserverance gained a competence and honest living amid those scrub oaks and cobbly knolls.
