Jourdan provides a precis of extant wills and land records of colonial Maryland. Jourdan references the location of the documents in Maryland Archives. At any rate, her Posey family research is on pages 33-45 of Volume V of Early Families.

FRANCIS POSEY (the emigrant), married ELIZABETH (unknw surname) by 1647. They had two children, John and Anne. Anne married John Mould. John (1649-1684 or 1690) married SUSANNA (unknwn surname). The children of JOHN and SUSANNA POSEY were BENJAMIN (SR) (ca. 1668), Susanna (ca. 1670), Elizabeth (ca. 1675), Mary (1678), Jane (ca. 1681), Humphrey (1683), and John (1685). BENJAMIN POSEY SR (1668-1716) married MARY (unknwn surname). They had six, possibly seven children. The 4th child was BENJAMIN POSEY JR (my ancestor). The 5th child was Francis Posey (1700-1774) . BENJAMIN JR married PATIENCE BATEMAN. One of the children of BENJAMIN JR and PATIENCE was BENNETT POSEY SR (1731-1762) (my ancestor) BENNETT POSEY SR was the father of BENJAMIN BENNETT POSEY (1760-1818), who married SUSANNAH CHADWELL. It was their daughter SUSAN ANNE POSEY who married JAMES SAMUEL BALL. Back to Francis Posey (1700-1774) and his wife Ann . . . their 10th child was Benjamin Vernal (Vernon) Posey, who is often cited erroneously as the husband of SUSANNAH CHADWELL. SUSANNAH CHADWELL was the wife of BENJAMIN BENNETT POSEY, not Benjamin Vernal (Vernon) Posey.
