Bert Scott

Bert was born May 17th, 1884 in Ogden, Iowa. He attended school in Eldon, Iowa, where he finished the tenth grade. The first job he had was with the railroad in the state of Washington, tunneling through the Cascade Mountains. He worked as a car repairer for the Rock Island Railroad for thirty years. He also worked as an inspector at the Naval Air Station in Ottumwa, Iowa while it was under construction.

Bert's interest was in history. It was his favorite subject in school. He would hide his history book inside of other books at school so he could read it more. Bert also liked to read the encyclopedia, which he did every evening.
