South Milwaukee Voice, 8 June 1904:

One of the most dangerous combinations which can be conceived- a fire, a Kerosene can and a woman- had the usual disastrous result Sunday afternon at 4:30 o'clock, when Mrs. Leo Ceszynski, wife of a baker on Monroe Avenue, between 15th and 16th avenues, after returning from church, attempted to renew her dining room fire by pouring Kerosene on it. The can exploded and Mrs. Ceszynski was immediately wrapped in flames. She was alone at the time, and before her husband, who was busy in the bakery, could reach her, every bit of clothing except the band of her skirt, was burned from her body. Doctors were immediately summoned, but human help was of no avail, and after lingering in great pain for two days, she expired at 2:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon.

Mrs. Ceszynski was 35 years of age and the mother of nine children. The funeral will take place tomorrow with interment in the Polish cemetary on 8th Avenue Milwaukee.
