About Bertold II von Niddagau-Nüringen, graf
Not the wife of Luitgard von Istrien, who lived long before this man.
German Wikipedia translated, retrieved 31 March 2022
Little is known about the life of Berthold I. A frequent presence at the royal court can be proven from numerous testimonies in documents, primarily from the Archbishop of Mainz and the Salian kings. He had at least three children, namely the sons Berthold II. and Siegfried I. and a daughter (unsure of age, possibly his sister too) named Luitgard. She married Volkold II von Malsburg and brought Nüringen property into the marriage. From this marriage came the Counts of Nidda , who also adopted the nickname Berthold.
