Miss Bessie Ellis Claimed by Death

After an illness of some time, Miss Bessie Lee Ellis passed away at 3:35 a.m. last Saturday, June 4, 1938, at the home of her mother, Mrs. J. P. Ellis. She was born in Davis May 16, 1891, and spent her entire life here.

Funeral services were held Sunday at 3 p.m. at the home of her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Welcome Ware. Rev. C. R. McClelland, pastor of the Baptist church, conducted the service, which was followed by burial in Green Hill cemetery. The service was attended by a large group of relatives and friends.

Survivors are his mother; six sisters and one brother, namely: Mrs. Ida Ware, Mrs. Vesta Gibson, Mrs. Minerva Ware, Mrs. Sarah Chamblee, all of Davis; Mrs. Cleo Lamb, Lawton; Mrs. Alma Brown, Okla. City; Robert Ellis, Norton, Texas, and numerous other relatives and friends.
