Rome Sentinel April 1,1885 BETSEY LEETE VERONA VERONA, April 1 -- Mrs. Betsey Leete died last evening at her late home in this village, aged nearly 87 years. Some weeks ago, Mrs. Leete fell and injured her hip, and from lack of vitality gradually failed from the shock. She was the widow of the late Harley Leete, for many years and esteemed merchant of this village. She had lived in this vicinity for fifty years or more, coming here from Leete's Island, Conn. Mrs. Leete led a quiet but useful life, and was greatly loved by her acquaintances. She had been in feeble health for years, but took great interest in the welfare of her friends and everything transpiring in this village, The deceased leaves three children, R. B. Leete, who succeeded his father in business, Miss Mary Leete and Mrs. Sarah Gibbs, who made their home with their mother at the old homestead. Notice of the funeral will be given hereafter.
