It shows William Canterberry and Thomas Mallet swearing alligency to the Gov. of Virginia the 3rd day of August 1789 and paying $50.00 pounds current money to obtain a licence for his marriage with Betty Ann Lawson, daughter of William Lawson of this county. It is signed by William Canterberry and Thomas Mallet, test Abram Tripp.
