Granny V as we called her was an amazing Christian woman. She enjoyed life and could laugh and joke with the best of us. She lived on her old homeplace in Brushy Creek, TX until her death in 2009. She opened a daycare in her later years and loved to make quilts. The death of her son James was blow to the entire family. He was her youngest and loved his mom very much. Granny could make the best homemade bread and rolls that you ever put in your mouth. During my high school years, Granny was a cook at Frankston High School and everyone could no wait until bread day for some of her wonderful bread. She loved to sing and went to every local singing with her dear friend Ms. Lottie Bell. She did not care what denomination was on the sign out side, if you were singing she was ready to join in.
