~Both parents were from Russia and spoke Yiddish.
~She would come up with a design for clothing and her mother would make them.
~Had cats growing up. 1 ran away.
~Mother would make wine in the bathtub and sell it.
~Beverly called her father Pa. He died when she was in grammar school. He used to give her a penny when he came home from work & sometimes, on the weekends, would give her a nickel. She would take the money & go to the corner store to buy a vinegar pickle!
~She shared a bedroom with her sister, Rosie.
~Liked to act. Would take turns acting and singing in front of an audience on the Shul steps across from her house. She was in a lot of school plays, even acting after she was married to Walter at some Haddassah events.
~After her father died, her mother used to rent a room out to borders.
~Always held some type of class office
~Had a job Typing
~Could knit a good afghan.
~Good at cards and loves Bingo.
~Gave birth to her 2 children in Chelsea Memorial Hospital. Both were very difficult deliveries.
~Lived in Chelsea - Lynn St, then Chester Ave. Also lived behind the store they ran on Washington Ave, Chelsea. (Walter's Variety)
