Bianca Maria Finzi-Contini Calabresi (1902-1982) was Professor of French and Italian at Connecticut College and Professor and Chair of the Italian Department at Albertus Magnus College, United States of America.
Born in Ferrara, Italy in 1902.
Married Massimo Calabresi, and together with her husband and their two little children, Paul Calabresi and Guido Calabresi fled Fascist Italy in September 1939, after the promulgation of the Racial Laws.
While Massimo Calabresi joined the faculty of Yale University School of Medicine as a cardiologist at the Veterans’ Administration Hospital, Bianca Maria Finzi-Contini earned a PhD in French at Yale University and was Professor of French and Italian at Connecticut College and for many years Professor and Chair of the Italian Department at Albertus Magnus College.
Both her sons also pursued an academic career in the United States.
