!WAYNESBORO, Ga. - Mr. Bill Jones "Big Daddy" Tomlin, 84, entered into rest on Thursday, November 28, 2002 at Burke Medical Center, Waynesboro. Mr. Tomlin was a life long resident of Burke County. He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he was the General Secretary of the Sunday School Department for over 50 years. Mr. Tomlin was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country in World War II. He retired after 30 years of employment from McKinney Wholesale Co., Inc. where he worked as a sales clerk. He will be remembered by many as a happy, jovial man who loved to dance. Survivors include his beloved wife; Janell Mobley Tomlin of Waynesboro; four children; Bill Tomlin and daughter-in-law, Sherry of Otto, N.C.; Stephen Tomlin and daughter-in-law, Jane of Dillard; Jone Wiggins and son-in-law, Dan of Waynesboro; Chris Tomlin and daughter-in-law, Gina of Richmond Hill; five grandchildren, Daniel Wiggins ,Carson Wiggins , Elizabeth Wiggins, Casey Tomlin, and Tory Tomlin. A memorial service will be held Sunday, December 1, 2002, at 2 p.m., at the First Baptist Church with Dr. G. Al Wright officiating.
