About Bob Saget

Robert Lane "Bob" Saget was an American stand-up comedian, actor, television host and director. His television roles include Danny Tanner on the ABC sitcom Full House (1987–1995) and its Netflix sequel Fuller House (2016–2020). He hosted America's Funniest Home Videos from 1989 to 1997. Saget was also known for his adult-oriented stand-up routine. He provided the voice of the future Ted Mosby on the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother from 2005 to 2014. (Wikipedia, CC BY-SA)

Saget was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Rosalyn Saget (née Comer), a hospital administrator, and Benjamin Morton Saget, a supermarket executive. His father was of Latvian Jewish descent. Saget lived in Norfolk, Virginia, and Encino, California, before moving back to Philadelphia and graduating from Abington Senior High School. His sister, Gay, died of scleroderma at age 47. Saget made a TV movie, For Hope, based on his sister and her struggle with the disease. His sister, Andrea, died of an aneurysm at age 34. Two other siblings died in childbirth before he was born.

Saget had 3 daughters, Twins Aubrey Saget and Lara Melanie Saget (born October 16, 1989) and Jennifer Belle Saget (born November 18, 1992), with ex-wife Sherri Kramer Saget.
