Boyd, third son of Claud Alexander, born January 1758, entered the service of the East India Company. He purchased the estates of Southbar and Boghall, Renfrewshire. In 1796 he was chosen M.P. for Ren- frew, and was returned as representative for Glasgow in 1806. He married his cousin, Camilla,* daughter of Boyd Porterfield of that ilk, by his wife Christian, daughter of Alexander Cuninghame of Craigends. He died without issue in 1825.
