My father, Jacob Peter Swemmer, never spoke about his family besides his sister Aunty Maureen and her husband Uncle Tinky and his half sister, Veda Thompson. It is to Aunty Veda whom I owe my gratitude for introducing me to Geni which led me to discover the rest of Dad's family.

My mother, Shirley Maude Mitchell, also never spoke about her family other than her mother, my Granny Ethel, through whom I discovered some of her family.
