Brig. General William Alexander McCain

William Alexander McCain ( Carroll County , August 25, 1878 - Doylestown Pennsylvania , May 13, 1960 ) was a brigadier general in the US Army and John S. McCain 's brother (Senator John McCain 's grandfather). He was the son of John Sidney McCain, the sheriff of Carroll County, and Elizabeth Ann Young.

Both wars

McCain graduated in West Point in 1902 . He climbed to Brigadier General in 1940 and during his career, he received several honors, such as The Distinguished Service Medal ( World War II ) and The Oak Leaf Cluster ( World War II ). McCain is buried at the Arlington National Cemetery .
