Cécile Murat, fille du capitaine Pierre Murat, se trouve, par le destin, orpheline dans un petit village de la région de la baie Sainte-Marie dès 1800. Accueillie par Casimir et Martha LeBlanc comme leur propre enfant, Cécile grandit, épouse un nommé Janie (Jean-Baptiste) Melanson, devient mère de famille, et, par ses observations immortalisées dans son «Journal», elle nous laisse un souvenir de l'Acadien et de l'Acadie d'autrefois.

Cécile Murat, daughter of Captain Pierre Murat, is, by fate, an orphan in a small village in the bay area from Sainte-Marie 1800.
