About C. Arumainayagam, Catechist in Neyyoor.
Arumainayagam studied at the Government School, Eraniel, Tamil Nadu and completed school education. He worked as a catechist in Neyyoor. Then he went to Sri Lanka (former Ceylon) to work for the Tamil Coolie Mission. On his return, he was appointed as teacher in the Nagercoil Seminary, and was it headmaster from 1894 to 1914. He also served as a deacon of the Nagercoil Home Church (London Mission) from 1901 till his demise on May 10, 1914. Arumainayagam authored several Tamil books Yen Thangai (My Younger Sister), Yen Pattanar (my Grandfather), Meethi Irul, Mudiya Muthu (Closed pearl), and Ayanum Adum. He also composed a few Christian Hymns, which found a place in the book of Nagercoil Home Church lyrics.
