Caleb Emery

32 CALEB EMERY (Daniel, James, Anthony), son of Daniel and Margaret (Gowen) Emery ; married March 10, 1747-8, Jane Frost of Berwick (died March 5, 1767). King's Attorney, 1761 ; lawyer, farmer and tanner. He read law with his brother Noah, and was admitted to the Court of Common Pleas in 1750. He was a man of plain manners, of strict integrity, of peaceful character, discouraging litigation among his neighbors, even alter he had entered the legal profession. Ile had the confidence of all with whom he came in contact, and was highly esteemed by his relatives and clients. Children :
