Chilton Latham was born on June 2, 1650 in Plymouth, MA, a son of Robert Latham (1623 - 1688) and Susanna Winslow Latham (1630 - 1685). (Note: There are conflicting sources of birth as 1671 or 1672 in Bridgewater, MA. The 1650 date is more definite but not completely verified). He was born a twin to Mercy LATHAM.

He is brother to Sarah (Latham) Howard, James Latham (?-1738), Hannah (Latham) Washburn (1644-1711), his twin Mercy (Latham) Harris (1650-?) and Elizabeth (Latham) Cooke (1665-1730).

On Dec. 6, 1699, Capt. Chilton Latham and Susanna Kingman were married in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Their children are Charles Latham, Joseph Latham, Jane Latham, Arthur Latham, James Latham, Sr., Robert Latham and Mary Latham.

He was a teacher before joining the Massachusetts Militia and achieving rank as Captain. C. Maddox states that he was a 4th generation of the descendants coming over in the Mayflower.

On Aug 6, 1751, Capt. Chilton Latham, age 101, died.
