About Capt. Frank William Jennings
SPANISH -AMERICAN WAR VETERAN DIES
Frank William Jennings, 77, former army captain and veteran of the Spanish-American war, died at his home late Tuesday. Born in Franktown, Nev., February 25, 1857, Mr. Jennings was the son of William and Priscilla Paul Jennings. They were on a mission for the L. D. S. church at the time of his birth. Mrs. Jennings was manager of the old Emporium department store here in early years. later he was connected with the Deseret Woolen mills, which at length incorporated with the Provo Woolen mills. Later he was a member of the Jennings, Hooper, Knowleten Insurance company. During the Spanish-American war he attained the rank of captain. He was a member of the old Salt Lake Commerical club and of B. P. O. Elks lodge No. 85. Surviving are his widow Mrs. Margarie Dwyer Jennings; two daughters, Mrs. L. G. Dinwoodey of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Edwin T. Peterson of Pasadena, Cal.; four brothers, and a sister, Joseph A. Jennings, Los Angeles, Cal.; Walter P. Jennings and Harold P. Jennings of Salt Lake City; Harry Jennings and Mrs. Walter Scott Crismon, Los Angeles , Cal. The body is at the Evans and Early mortuary pending arrangements.
