About Capt John White Glover
born at Vinalhaven, Me., Nov. 5, 1821, and died at Calcutta, of cholera, Sept. 1, 1863. He went early to sea with his father, and after passing through the regu- lar grades of office, was for many years first mate under his father's command. Subsequently he became a shipmaster, and continued such until his decease.
