Joshua Doyne received patent on "Bachelors Hope" and "Notley's Addition" from Lord Baltimore in 1683 for 20,000 lbs of tobacco.

St. Mary's Co., MD land ownership shows that in 1698 Johsua Doyne owned two parcels of 200 acres in Nanjemy.

Joshua Doyne was Ethelbert Doyne's father. Ethelbert's mother was Jane Matthews, the daughter of Thomas Matthews and Jane Cockshutt. (Joshua was also married to Barbara Dennis, ?daughter/sister of Edmund and Anne Dennis) These are the wills of Joshua and Jane (Matthews) Doyne.
