- He was b. 10 Oct 1720,
- married Patience Pierce 26 Feb 1741.
- Patience Pierce was dau. of David Pierce and Mary Wood, no record of children.
Obadiah lived in Swansea, although from a Quaker family, he did not follow the Quaker way of life, as his military title shows. A list has been preserved which he wrote on 29 May 1756, naming those within the limits of his company who could not render military service because of their Quaker religion.
Obadiah's will was written 2 Nov. 1753 and proved 2 Nov. 1762. It contains many references to "my wife Patient" and mentions many of her kinfolk and of his own.
On 26 June 1766 Patience married Elder John Mason of Swansea,
- born 4 Oct 1716, son of Pelatiah and Hepsibeth Brooks.
- Elder John married first on 26 Oct 1738 Zerviah Ormsby,
- b. about 1716, dau of Ezra and Mary Salisbury
- who died 20 July 1765 age 47.
- Elder john died 27 June 1801
