About Capt. Roswell Baldwin

Roswell B. Baldwin, son of Sylvester Baldwin and Esther Brown, was b. April 22,1818; m. in 1849 to Hannah Miles; she d. May 2,1872. He was a shipmaster.

Children were: Ida (1851), Sylvester (1856), and Roswell B. (1859).

Roswell was the captain of the Isaac Allerton, which wrecked off Key West during a hurricane in 1856.

He is the great-great-grandfather of the famed "Baldwin brothers" group of actors: Alec, Billy, Stephen, and Daniel.

Roswell B.
