About Capt. Silas Wheelock
Notes for Silas Wheelock: Silas attained the rank of Captain in the local militia. Later, he attained the
rank of Colonel, and command the 7th Worcester County Regiment, which marched to Cambridge and
Roxbury in response to the Lexington Alarm of 19 April 1775. Many of his children also served, including
Simeon, Caleb, Calvin, and Luther.
Silas and Hannah singed the Articles of Faith of the Baptist Church in Bellingham in 1750. (Source: "The
