Thomas Gerry was born at Newton Abbot Devonshire England March 15 1702 and died in Marble head whither he came when a young man he was captain of a trading vessel he married Elizabeth Greenleaf daughter of Russell and Rebecca Elbridge Greenleaf. Elbridge was named for his mother's family. The grandfather of Elbridge was Daniel Gerry of Newton Abbot."
