William Thomas Kennedy, 84, husband of Dorothy O'Daniel Kennedy, died Tuesday, March 1, 2005.
Born in Wetumpka, Ala., he was the son of the late Carl Jefferson and Alma Grimes Kennedy.
In 1942, he was graduated from Auburn University with a BS degree in Agriculture.
Mr. Kennedy was a decorated World War II veteran, and held the rank of Captain in the U.S. Army. He was also a member of the American Legion.
During the 1960's, he wrote a syndicated political column in Washington, D.C., and was a member of the National Press Club. He ended his writing career with the Alabama State Docks as the Editor for their monthly magazine.
He was a member of Taylors First Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Roger Dunlap of Greenville, S.C.; a sister, Julia Beth Perkins of Pensacola, Fla.; and a grandson, Cory Dunlap of Atlanta, Ga.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 4, 2005, at 2 p.m. in the chapel at Taylors First Baptist Church. Dr. Frank S. Page will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
