William West was the son of Timothy West 1720 and Anna Babcock 1723.

William West was a descendant of Mayflower Passenger George Soule (through Susannah Soule, Thomas West, Timothy West).

William fought in the American Revolution.

William married Nancy Anna Babcock, the daughter of Joseph Babcock 1713 and Susanna Thompson.

The couple had children: Sarah (Luke Calvin) Davis 1773, Timothy 1774, Prudence Molly (Sullivan) Gardner 1775, Jesse Babcock 1779, Joseph 1781, Jesse B 1783, Nancy (Joseph) Miner 1785, William II 1787, Asa 1789, George 1789, Lydia () Gardner 1791, Francis 1793.

William died in Oct 1800 while on the ship Con. Frigate "Trumball".
