Biography

Abraham Morehouse was born on or before December 22, 1700,[1] to Daniel Morehouse and Hannah (Adams) Morehouse of Stratford, Connecticut Colony.

He was married to Elizabeth Patterson, also of Stratford.

Abraham had two child slaves, Dinah & Jenny, who were baptized 17 Jan 1753 @ Fairfield, CT.[2]

In his will, Abraham remembered the following:

Elizabeth, wife & executor Sarah, daughter, wife of Zachariah Jennings Hannah, daughter, wife of Edmund Rowland Rebecca, daughter, wife of Matthew Jennings Andrew, son Daniel, son, deceased Samuel, son & executor Seth, son Silvanus, son Esther Morehouse, grandchild, Daniel's daughter Abraham Morehouse, grandchild, Daniel's son Nabbie (Morehouse) Young, granddaughter, Daniel's daughter

Genny, slave, bequeathed to daughter Hannah Dinah, negro girl, bequeathed to daughter Rebecca Nancy, negro girl (from the inventory) Jack, negro boy (from the inventory)

Abraham passed away on May 3, 1761, in Fairfield, Connecticut Colony.[3] He is buried in The Old Burying Ground of Fairfield, Connecticut.[1]
