Captain Charles St. Clair Pote, 4th Regiment of Foot, British Army: Hailing from Grahamstown, in the eastern cape, Pote was a descendent of the 1820 Settlers. He joined the British Army and served with the 4th Regiment of Foot, the King’s Own Royal Regiment, and died in London in 1882.
