To perpetuate the memory of Captain JOHN BONNER, whose title is derived from his Services as mariner both on his own account as well as his country. He was born in the town of Washington, N.C., 15 September, 1746, and after an illness of 7 weeks, died in his perfect Senses 6th December 1788.
