Karl Tammann (also Carl Christian Tammann) (27.06.1879 (vkj) -?) Was born in Pärnu, moved to St. Petersburg, married there; son Ernst Gustav Tammann (26.09.1912 (vkj 13.09.1912) - 1983) was born in Moscow. Ernst Tammann moved to South Africa before World War II, where he lived until his death in 1983. (Tallinn Oleviste Congregation Personnel Book (TLA.236.1.53))

Carl Christian Tammann was a real businessman in Estonia in the 1920s. In 1921, the Commodity and Industry OÜ Karl Tammann & Ko included the following departments: "Eesti-Aga" (lighting, welding and other equipment, own acetylene and atmospheric oxygen industries), "Lux" (batteries, electric lamps, etc.), "Machinery" , industrial equipment, car and bicycle tires, cars, motorcycles and bicycles, motor boats, typewriters, etc.), "Maritime affairs" (marine and fishing supplies), "Raw materials and chemicals" (industrial supplies, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics), "Manufactory and haberdashery" , "Royal Derby" in Haapsalu (leather goods, silk and woven items, jewelry). Karl Tammann was also the founder and member of the board of OÜ Radion in 1929-1930. OÜ Radion also sold the French radios Radiola and bicycles represented by the company Karl Tammann, represented the radio products of the Leningrad plant Elektrosvjaz (!) (Accompanying lamps, microphones, measuring instruments, etc.).

At the beginning of 1922, Karl Tammann & Ko and Ühisus Körting-Gürtler founded a new trading company, AS Konzentra. Karl Tammann & Ko's owners at that time included Karl and Aleksander Tammann. In 1923, Karl Tammann & Ko, a public limited company of trade and industry, was founded in place of the private limited company, founded by K. Tammann, J. Uttopärt and A. Tau, and the fixed capital was 5 million marks in 500 shares and 10,000 marks. In 1924, the share capital of the public limited company was 5 million Estonian marks and the loss 678,060 marks. In the same year, Horchwerke cars, Gnome & Rhone motorcycles and Adlerwerke bicycles were sold. Later, in addition to DKW cars, DKW motorcycles were also sold, and the bicycle factories Champion, BSA and Opel and Dunlop tires were represented in Estonia.

The exact time and circumstances of the dissolution or liquidation of the public limited company Karl Tammann & Ko are initially unknown, but at some point Karl Tammann probably continued to operate as a general partnership of his own name. In January 1930, the import-export company Karl Tammann was terminated in the commercial register of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. At the same time, the general partnership Trade and Industry Association Karl Tamman & Stefan Traustel was registered, the field of activity is import and export of various goods and industrial companies, the general partners Karl Tammann and Stefan Traustel, the share capital was 20,000 kroons. The termination of the activities of this company was registered in the Commercial Register of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in January 1932. In March of the same year, the "Motorcycle, Car and Bicycle Industry Erta", registered as Karl Tammann, was registered as Kentmanni 5 in Tallinn.

1934 In February, the activities of the company "Erta, motorcycle, car and bicycle industry, Karl Tammann" located at Kentmanni 5 in Tallinn were terminated in the Commercial Register of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the "Motorcycle and Car Workshop Erta, Ernst Tammann" was registered at the same location. Erta sold both DKW cars and motorcycles back in 1933. In 1934, the representative of this brand was already in the hands of the company (Estonia) AS C. Siegel. 1935 In August, Karl Tammann was declared insolvent in a non - commercial area at his own request. In 1935, Kentmann 5 "Precious Metals Separation Industry Erta" operated under the leadership of Ernst Tammann.

1922. aasta alguses asutasid Karl Tammann & Ko ning Ühisus Körting-Gürtler uue kaubandusettevõtte AS Konzentra. Karl Tammann & Ko omanike hulka kuulusid sel ajal Karl ja Aleksander Tammann. 1923. aastal asutati osaühingu asemele Kaubanduse ja tööstuse aktsiaselts Karl Tammann & Ko, mille asutajateks olid K. Tammann, J. Uttopärt ja A. Tau ning põhikapitaliks 5 miljonit marka 500 aktsias a 10 000.- marka.

1935. a. augustis tunnistati Karl Tammann tema enda palvel mittekaubanduslikul alal maksujõuetuks. 1935. aastal tegutses Kentmanni 5 "Väärtmetallide lahutustööstus Erta", Ernst Tammanni juhatusel.
