Carmen Ayala Castañeda

There is evidence that there are two women with similar names in this tree. One woman is called Carmen Ayala Castañeda - the other is called Maria del Carmen Castañeda with unknown second last name. It is clear that Maria del Carmen Castañeda is Ismael Ayala Cordon's wife, and their children should have Ayala Castañeda as birth names. Carmen Ayala Castañeda, on the other hand, appears to have had three children with unknown fathers. I believe the assignment of Carmen Castañeda Ayala as Ismael's wife is in error in Guillermo Castañeda Lee's genealogy. Unfortunately, there are conflicting documents in the birth and death registries that leave us in this predicament. Thus, I advise to take Ismael Ayala Cordon's tree with a grain of salt until further research can definitively show the proper relations. Update: Living grand children of Carmen Ayala Castañeda have been found in Teculutan on February 2014. In an interview with one of them, Aura Ayala Tejada, it became clear that Carmen Ayala Castañeda is not Ismael Ayala's wife. Aura recognizes Lisandro Calderon Ayala as their cousin, but not the legitimate daughters of Ismael: Virginia, Maria Virginia and Maria Rosa Elena. Moreover, Aura knows of the existence of two other cousins with different father - she calls them Blanca and Roman Ayala. I have found birth certificates of three other children of Carmen Ayala Castañeda: Juventina, Maria Herminia and Jose Vicente, in agreement with Guillermo Castañeda Lee's genealogy. It is not clear whether two of these women could have Blanca as a second name, and whether Jose Vicente is Roman. These other cousins where not well known to Aura - the important point is that she remembers that there are others. Aura was 72 years old at the time of the interview. Sergio R. Elena Ayala Castañeda esta en el cementerio de Teculutan, al igual que la lapida de Ismael. Ver comentarios en el perfil de Elena sobre las lapidas. Sin embargo, la partida de nacimiento de Virginia pone a la madre como Carmen Ayala Castañeda, confundiendo la situacion. La partida de defuncion de Virginia si sale con los padres correctos. Por ende la evidencia demuestra que hay dos Carmenes y la esposa de Ismael no es Carmen Ayala Castañeda, como lo tiene Guillermo Castañeda Lee en su genealogia.

En una entrevista con Aura Ayala Tejada, Febrero de 2014, se esclarecio que ella es nieta de Carmen Ayala Castañeda y proveyo informacion sobre sus 5 hermanos(as), y su padre Atanacio Ayala. El padre de Atanacio es conocido, Pedro Jose Aldana, pero no reconocio a los hijos. Aura reconoce a Lisandro Calderon Ayala como su primo, pero no a las hijas de Ismael. Sin embargo recuerda que hay otros dos primos con nombres: Blanca y Roman, de diferente padre que todos los demas. Estos nombres no cuadran con las partidas de nacimiento encountradas en los microfilms de los Mormones (Juventina, Maria Herminia y Jose Vicente) bajo Carmen Ayala.
