Caroline Nettie Wyss

Caroline Benedict Wyss was born in Medford, Wisconsin in 1912. She was the daughter of Fred and Maria Benedict. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1934 with Phi Beta Kappa honors. She married Walther Wyss and they were married for 55 years. In 1946 , she moved to Kenilworth .

They had five children: Mary Beth Huttenlocher (Richard). Trudy Wood, Becky Watt (Sidney), John Wyss (Joanne) and Wendy Wyss. She was preceded in death by her husband and oldest granddaughter, Carolee Pewthers. She has 8 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren with another due soon.

Carol was a member of the Wilmette Lutheran Church, the Kenilworth Club, Michigan Shores Club, The Chicago Curling Club and Skokie Country Club. She served on the Joseph Sears school board. She was an enthusiastic duplicate bridge player, reader, traveler, and enjoyed knitting and sewing. She spent the last twenty years of her life at Westminster Place in Evanston . On August 16th of this year, she celebrated her 100th birthday at a lunch surrounded by 30 relatives from across the United States. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 27th at 11:30 AM at Elliott Chapel of the Presbyterian Homes, 3131 Simpson Street (Golf Rd.), Evanston.
