Carolyn Joyce Hilty

ORRVILLE — Carolyn Joyce Weeman, 80, of Orrville, passed away Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018, at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster, after a long period of declining health.

She was born on May 19, 1937, in Orrville to the late Kenneth and Dorothy (Ziegler) Hilty and graduated from Orrville High School in 1955. She married John Richard “Dick” Weeman on Nov. 12, 1955, at Augsburg Lutheran Church in Orrville. He survives.

Carolyn worked in customer service for The J.M. Smucker Company in Orrville for 30 years, retiring in 1998, and was a member of Augsburg Lutheran Church in Orrville.

She enjoyed gardening, scrapbooking, family camping trips and attending the Wayne County Fair. She will be remembered for her laugh, her cooking and her many birthday cards. Her greatest joy was watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up and attending their many various activities.

Surviving in addition to her husband, are daughters, Linda (Rodney) Morrison of Smithville, Laurie (David) Stahl of Wooster and Sandy (Bill) Besancon of Smithville, and a son, David (Pam) Weeman of Ocala, Fla.; grandchildren, Richard (Katie) Morrison, Amy (Kevin) Beichler, Bryan (Sarah) Morrison, Melissa (Justin) Singletary, Mike Weeman, Marc Weeman, Katie (Keith) Kerns, Ashley (Ben) Hoffman, Tyler (Erica) Stahl, Brett (Liz) Besancon, Beth (John) Matty, Doug (Steph) Besancon and Greg Besancon; great-grandchildren, Brant, Audrey, Brady, Liana, Jaxon, Kiersten, Khloe, Jackson, Emily, Jackson, Kaylem, Mia, Sadie, Ellie and Blake; brothers, Nolan “Bud” (Shari) Hilty and Rick Hilty, both of Orrville, and Gary (Marsha) Hilty of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and a sister, Nadine (Earl) Maag of Orrville.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Orrville.
