About Carrie V Speece
Mrs. Carrie Speece, widow of Harry D. Speece, well known restaurant man of Palmyra, died this morning at 7:00 o'clock at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Jennie Stutzman, of 104 Front Streel, Palmyra. Her death was attributed to a heart condition, and followed an illness of three years. Mrs. Speece, who was sixty-three years of age, was bedfast since October. She was born in Schaefferstown, a daughter of the late George and Alice Strickler. A resident of Palmyra for twenty-seven years, she lived in Schaefferstown prior to that lime. She was a member of the Trinity Reformed Church, Palmyra. Her husband died twelve years ago. She is survived by eleven children, as follows: Mrs. Anna Waltz, of Hummelstown; Mrs. Jennie Stutzman, of Palmyra; Lawrence, of New York; Harry, of Annville; Mrs. John Rauch and George, of Palmyra; Sylvester, of Lebanon; Mrs. Arthur Nornhold, and Mrs. Irvin Farnsler, both of Palmyra; Donald, of Union Deposit, and Mervin, of Palmyra. Twenty-one grandchildren; three brothers, James Strickler, of Fontana, John Strickler, of Lebanon, Paul Strickler, of Schaefferstown; one sister, Mrs. Sara Kinport, of Mitchell, South Dakota; one stepdaughter, Mrs. George Burkey, of Palmyra; and a step-son, William Speece, of Reading, also survive.
