SHETLER, Catherine, daughter of Jonathan and Lydia (Custer) Yoder, was born in Somerset Co., Pa., June 23, 1884; died at Memorial Hospital, Johnstown, Pa., Dec. 17, 1978; aged 94 y. She was married to David H. Shetler, who died on Aug. 16, 1962. Surviving are 2 daughters (Lydia Catherine - Mrs. Carl Holsopple, Mary - Mrs. Delmar Thomas), 5 sons (Harry, Paul, Delmar, Charles, and William), 25 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one sister (Lydia Saylor). She was preceded in death by 3 sons (Ammon, David, and Robert). She was a member of Kaufman Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Dec. 20, in charge of Sanford Shetler, Aldus Wingard, and Stanley Freed; interment in Blough Mennonite Cemetery.

Catherine "Cassie" Shetler, 94, of Hollsopple RD 2, died Dec. 17, 1978, at Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. Born June 23, 1884, in Conemaugh Township, Somerset County, daughter of Jonathan and Lydia (Custer) Yoder. Preceded in death by parents, four sisters, six brothers, three sons - the Rev. Ammon, David and Robert - and husband David H., who died Aug. 16, 1962. Survived by these children: the Rev. Harry, married to the former Stella Thomas; Paul, married to the former Mary Miller; Delmar, married to the former Elnora Gindlesperger and Lydia Catherine, wife of Carl Hollsopple; and daughter-in-law Evelyn, widow of the Rev. Ammon Shetler, all of Hollsopple RD 2; Charles, married to the former Anna Yoder, Schellsburg RD 1; Mary, wife of Delmar Thomas; and William, married to the former Josephine Negast, both of Davidsville; also 25 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Sister of Lydia, a widow of William Saylor, Davidsville. Oldest member of Kaufman Mennonite Church, where she was a member of Kaufman Senior Sewing. Family receiving friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at George E. Mason Funeral Home, Davidsville, where brief service will be held at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. at Kaufman Mennonite Church, the Revs. Stanley Freed, Stanford Shetler and Aldus Wingard. Interment, Blough Mennonite Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan. Family links:
