Catherine Kelley was the daughter of Robert G Holway (1890 - 1958) and Marie Kane (1890 - 1985)

[Actress Sheila Kelley] ... is the youngest in a family of nine children (now "including three lawyers, a geophysicist, a geologist, a schoolteacher, a graphics artist and a nurse")-six daughters, three sons. The two eldest were children of her mother Kate's first marriage, to Leonard Thom, who was an ensign and aide to John F. Kennedy on PT-109 in World War II. In 1950, Thom died in a train accident. Kate later married Jay Kelley, a mining engineer and inventor.
