"But this Catharina (Sluyter) might be a step-daughter of Nicolaes Velthuysen (of Lubeck). She could be Aeltjie Lubberts and Gerrit Bicker's daughter Tryntje, b. Amsterdam. Gerrit Bicker, who died 1658, was in the service of the WIC as Commissary at Fort Casimir on the Delaware, in charge of the fort when it was taken over by the Swedes under Rysingh. His wife Aeltjie Lubberts, m2 Nicolaes Velthuysen. Banns pub 6 June 1659, New Amsterdam Dutch Reform Church. Nicolaes Velthuysen supposedly died 1661."
1652 Oct 13; Leendert Philipszen; Annetie; Gerrit Bicker, Gritie Jans, Agniet Caspers
1652 Nov 10; Gerrit Bicker; Victoor; Francois Fyn, Helena Blommaerts
tentative conclusion as to Catharian's parents
two of her children were given the same given name as Velthuysens: Nicolaes (for Nicolaes Velthuysen) and Jannetie for Nicloaes' first wife Jannetje Willems.. For me this seals the deal. And, it would not be logical for Henry Sluyter to name a child for his wife's step father (if Bicker was her father)(!)
Looking for Gerrit Bickers' daughter Tryntie in New Amsterdam Baptisms, we find:

- 1660 Oct 31; Herman Janszen Van Leyden, Tryntie Gerrits; Hermanns; Jeuriaen Hanel
