Immigrated to US in 1870 at 1 years of age.
Mrs. Catherine Wage, 72, died last night at the family home at 1308 South 8th street after having been ill for a year. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Pfeffer Funeral Home, the Rev. A.C. Fischer of the First Reformed church officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Funeral Home after 7 o'clock this evening. Mrs. Wage was born Catherine Vander Veer in Holland on January 21, 1868 (sic). She was brought to America when she was a year old. On November 16, 1907, she was married to August Wage. He died 23 years ago. Surviving Mrs. Wage are three sons, Carl E., Clarence M., and Reinhardt P., all of Manitowoc, and three sisters, Miss Clara Vander Veer, Mrs. Cornella Larson and Mrs. Sarah Zonneville, all of Rochester, N.Y.
