In later career, he was a railway engineer and in 1919 was engaged on the survey for the railway that was built up the Khyber Pass to the Afghan Frontier. (source: Royal Engineers Museum). At time of death, was on special duty Chaman Kandhar Survey. At death, only official family details were that he had a brother Major Lynch, Kasauli Club, Kasauli and no relatives in England. In September 1925, property was 'at present not known, being arranged by Committee of Adjustment' (Source: British Library L/AG/34/14a/13/76a-b)
