About Charles "Charley" Clinton Looney
Obituary: "C C Looney Killed In Auto Accident In California. Charles Clinton Looney, aged 69, a native of Randolph County, but who was making his home at Bono, was killed in an automo¬bile accident in Hanford, Calif., July 11 [1958]. He was born near Elm Store Feb. 11, 1889, a son of the late William and Calidonia Simmons Looney and he spent his young manhood in this county. The remains were brought to Pocahontas and funeral services conducted in the McNabb Fun¬eral Chapel at 1 o'clock Friday afternoon by the Rev. Ralph Cadwell. Interment was in the Stubblefield Cemetery near Dalton under the direction of McNabb's. Mr. Looney leaves a daughter, Mrs. Nadine Meyer of Campbell, Mo.; three sons, Arthur, Lehman and Wilburn of Hanford, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; three brothers and a sister."
