There must be a newspaper with a photo of him and his wife, drinking tea with the Governor General of the Dutch East Indies, in the palace gardens. This photo was in Soerabayas Handelsblad" somewhere in 1939 or 1940. H.E. moved to one of the very highest positions in the colonial bureaucracy.
