The death has occurred of Mr. Charles Kruse, a former New Zealand champion rifle shot, in his 91st year. He won the New Zealand championship belt in 1891 in Napier and was a member of the Wanganui teams in 1892 and 1394, which won the New Zealand Rifle Association's teams championship. He was captain of the New Zealand tug-of-war team which won the international championship In 1892. The Union Boat Club valued Mr. Kruse as an oarsman of ability both in club events and regattas. he is survived by his wife, four daughters and three sons, one of whom is Mr. C. Kruse, of Auckland.
