About Charles E Mensch

Charles was the son of Johann Adam Mensch and Catherine Miller Mensch. He married Mary Cleary Rhodes and they had 4 children before his death. Charles' son Christian actually passed away Feb. 6, 1916. This date was recorded on a pension form when his 2nd wife Ellen May was applying for his pension for serving in the Civil War. According to information I found Christian was born in Columbia Co., PA. and passed away in Shamokin, PA.

It is believed that Charles was buried in this cemetery across the street from where his wife was buried. The cemetery where his wife was buried, was not open at the time of his death. No headstone has been found.
